After reading Kirsty's great introduction post it I thought I'd do one too!
So...here we go!
Who Am I?
My name is Kirt, I’m the Managing Director of Kenomica Productions. I've always loved video games and have been working on developing and designing for a very long time. Eventually I decided to start my own business - and here we have it! Kenomica Productions.
What Do I Do?
As Managing Director, It's my job to manage the business - which includes lots of less interesting (but still very important) jobs such as finances, book balancing, branding and more. Where my passion lies, however, is in hands on game development. I handle game design and development - both theoretical and in-engine development. 3D art is my main speciality; modelling, sculpting, texturing and rendering are where my heart truly lies.
Why Video Games?
I was passionate for videogames ever since my first gaming experiences as a child of six years old; playing Sonic the Hedgehog and Alex Kidd on the Sega Master System II and growing up with the release of the Playstation and Resident Evil 2, Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid (games I was FAR too young to be playing!)
From being Eight years old I had always wanted to "create the graphics for videogames." I followed this dream throughout my life; studying courses in college and University before going on to do various solo projects and training - and eventually creating Kenomica Productions.
As our mission statement says:
"I believe games are art. They can be fun, they can be thought-provoking. They can make us laugh, they can make us cry."
I hope to finish Dinosaur Run and give a solid release (as well as a post-mortem of the kinda rocky development.)
Kenomica Productions is still young, and has lots of room to grow; I look forward to going through these stages of expand the business and also expanding my own skill set.
After Dinosaur Run We will be working on a more serious, mature game - but that's a story for another day!
I hope you enjoyed this introduction and that it maybe gave a little more of a peak behind the curtain of who we are.
Thank you for reading.
